5 Days lake mburo national park
Lake mburo is located in kiruhura district in south western Uganda, lake mburo was originally gazatted in 1933 as a controlled hunting ground and then upgrade to a game reserve in 1963 after was established as national park. Lake mburo is 11 square kilometer and 13 meters deep, the lake has only unlet but not out let and the only inlet river that lake mburo has is river Riza. Lake mburo gain its lake from the two biological brothers who one was mburo and kigarama where lake mburo is occupied present day which was at a low-lying area where the bahima pastolorists used to graze their cattle’s. Then one night, kigarama the brother to mburo dreamed that there was to come a heavy rain which could drain and flood the place where they both lived for a long time to destroy their lives and properties. When morning comes, kigarama shared the dream with his brother mburo what he had dream at nights that they can swift to the nearly hills and save their lives and property but unfortunately, mburo refused his brothers dream and remain in the law and the flood cover him. All in all, the lake was named lake mburo because mburo` s life and his property were all destrolled by the water hence, the brother run to the nearby hill which let was named as kigarama to always remember the two brothers kigarama and mburo.

Detailed itinerary
Day 1: transfer to lake mburo: wake up in the morning, have your breakfast and embark to the vehicle set off to south western Uganda with a stopover at Uganda equator for equator experience and photos, buy some crafts and the proceed to your way to lake mburo. On your arrival, you will check in the lodge either at the mihingo lodges or eagles nest comp sites for night stay and dinner.
Day 2: full day game drive: wake up in the morning have your breakfast and then embark to your vehicle for the interested morning game drive whereby you will get closer with nature. lake mburo is a very unique place due to the fact that every place has an interesting story about it, and you have to know that you will spend the whole day in the jungle of lake mburo national park. During game drive, you will be seeing a lot of birds like; bare face- go- away- bird, papyrus gonolek, black headed gonolek, yellow breasted apalis. African fish eagle, pied kingfisher and so many other bird species to mentioned but few and wild games like giraffes, buffaloes, elands, impala, topis, zebras and so many other animals to mention but a few. After you will drive back to the lodge in the evening hours and have a resting on the camp fire dinner and night stay.
Day 3: bird watching and afternoon boat cruise: you will wake up early morning and have breakfast then set off for the interested activity od bird watching in the park. lake mburo national park is a home of about 360 bird species and bird species that you can encounter in lake mburo incudes; bare face go away bird, African fish eagle, pied kingfisher, yellow breasted apalis and so many other birds. Return back to the lodge for lunch and refreshment for afternoon boat cruise. Immediately after lunch, you will embark to your vehicle and drive to the lake where you will meet you boat and go a head for a cruise on lake mburo and during this activity, you will also see different animals on the bank of the river and so many birds too after it will be in the evening return back to the lodge for dinner and night stay.
Day 4: community walk you will wake up in the morning and have your breakfast then set off for the local community people where you will spend your enter day with the local people. The local people who are surrounded by the park are known as the bahima who will introduce to you the traditional cultural of the western and their ways of living which you will interact with their local people during the local tour. the activity, you may either participate in are the hand milking methods, free range grazing and other community work. After, you will return back to the lodge in the evening for rest because you will so tired as you have spent the whole day with the local people then drive back to the lodge for night stay.
Day 5: transfer back to Entebbe. You will have your morning breakfast and check out of the lodge, embark to your vehicle drive back to entebbe with first stopover in mpigi for equator experience of enjoying two hemesphia at the same time, take photos and then embark to your journey back to entebbe.
